Self Portrait's
Still Life
Process
At first I started to do my self-portraits, I did about 2 a day for about 2 weeks. I used the grid method to do my self-portraits. I did two with a pencil. two with a pen, and two in the computer with a photo editing software like Photoshop. I took mostly random pictures of me because I didn't really knew what pictures to take. After I was done I shaded the ones I drew with pencil. When I was done with My self-portraits, I started to do my still life's. I got the ideas from things I used to do in art last year when at the first week of school, the teacher brought out things he had like stuffed birds, skeleton models and antlers. That's where I got the idea for the still life's. For others I used things I possessed, like my hand and my phone.

Act Questions
Self-Portrait
1. For my self-portraits I didn't have any inspiration other than my two Photoshop self-portraits. I was inspired by Pop Art and that was the effect on those two because I used the bright colors that Pop Art tends to have. 2.The overall approach that the author has regarding my topic was based on the specific things that my portraits were set up. If they had key ideas of how it is supposed to be set up. 3. Some generalizations and conclusions that I discovered while making my self-portraits was how well I could draw my face using the grid method to better draw my features. How the artist wants the picture to look like and drawn are different. The conclusion is that there is many different ways you can draw self-portraits. ' 4. The main idea for this piece is how well was the picture used to make the self-portraits on how deep in meaning they can be or just how well they were drawn and the shading in them. 5. i think that from my work I could say now that I could start to draw better for future projects because I wasn't really able to do it well. And also how could have I made my work better and/or different. |
Still Life
1. For my still life's I didn't have any inspiration on my work other than the things I chose. Most were chosen from things that I once drew in art class where we drew things the teacher had like skeletons, animals and other things. As well as things I had. 2. The overall approach that the author had regarding my topic was based on the detail that was put into the drawings like the shading that was made and how similar it looks to the actual object the artist was viewing. 3. Some generalizations are what the artist was creating for his piece. For example what is the reason why the artist chose to draw of the objects he chose and how closely related they are. The conclusion is that from the inspiration, the artist viewed past ideas he had viewed and done for still life. 4. The central idea for my still life's was just simple because it was just basically to draw something from an object. 5. From the still-life, I can infer that I also did and can improve on my drawing skills and just by viewing the object, how well can I draw from that. And from seeing things how well was I able to draw it the same. |
Reflection
Overall, the summer project was a good experience to sharpen my drawing skills. It was a good opportunity to better know how to use various methods like the grid method to draw the image the same. The project took me about 2 weeks to complete. I did 2 things a day at first with my self-portraits and then I did my still life's. I think I could've done better if I had shown the process to how I started it and so on to the finished drawing. If I had done that I could've gotten a better score. Finally, the project helped in my drawing to utilize better in my future projects.
